EcoSTEPS designed, developed and delivered a comprehensive three-day Supervisors Training program. This was conducted on three separate occasions and trained over 60 front line staff. The program developed participants' knowledge and skills around three major themes: Self-management – Work management – Supervising others

These themes cover the following core areas:

Identity:
Personal values and style and determine effect on others

Responsibility:
Identify the key responsibilities of a supervisor

Motivation:
Describe various motivation theories

Decision making:
Using various collaborative problem-solving approaches

Communication:
Develop communication skills and techniques

Negotiation:
Successful ‘win-win’ negotiation and resolving conflicts

Time Management:
Improve time management skills and self-organisation

Delegation:
Improve productivity and effectiveness through delegation

OH&S:
Apply relevant aspects of OH&S in the work environment

Stress:
Stress management and relaxation techniques

On-the-job training:
Understand the key principles of on-the-job training
