EcoSTEPS were commissioned by the Federal Department of Environment to deliver a sustainability workshop to key staff. A particular focus was the potential application of The Natural Step sustainability framework to policy development.

More recently in 2011 the Department commissioned EcoSTEPS to facilitate an important one-day meeting of stakeholders involved with the Kokoda Initiative.
