Blacktown City Council

By measuring the Ecological Footprint of its own operations, Blacktown City Council (BCC) was able to assess its impact on the environment, which helps it manage its ecological assets more wisely.

In 2010, a partnership between Blacktown City Council, EcoSTEPS and Sydney University’s Centre for Integrated Sustainability Analysis (ISA) worked on a project to measure Council’s Ecological Footprint. As a result of this work Council now has a clearer idea of the ecological impact that Blacktown City Council’s own operations have on the global environment.
