Samantha has a background in sustainable development and environmental planning. She has valuable consulting experience with South East Queensland local governments in developing and delivering sustainability policies for stormwater management and infrastructure planning. She has also conducted risk assessments and sustainability analyses for water resource planning and land management projects.

In her experience with the private sector, she has worked with industry in developing and implementing resource management and recycling programs, which has included employee environmental education training. Her private sector experience has given her hands-on practical knowledge of supply chain management issues.

She has instigated Green Procurement practices in her workplaces and has developed supplier criteria for the sustainable and environmentally sound procurement of pulp and paper for the paper manufacturing industry.

Samantha has practical knowledge in carbon accounting and is adept with the current climate change literature on local, national and global scales. She has led a company-based working group for the National Packaging Covenant aimed at working with supply chain associates internally and externally for more sustainable packaging outcomes.
